Jon Williams
For
Midwest Executive
I am Jon Williams and I would once again like to announce my candidacy for Midwest Area Executive. I am currently finishing my first year in that capacity
I am in my 22 nd year as a NASCOE member and CED in Wisconsin. My first year as an Area Executive has been very rewarding. I have had the opportunity to represent the Midwest Area interests on the NASCOE board and relay the area’s concerns. I have gained an appreciation for the challenges that NASCOE members face from a much grander perspective which has given me a better understanding of how the desires of one area can affect another. The needs and concerns of each area are often diverse yet the goal is always the same; to provide the best service to our customers, the American Farmer and Rancher.
NASCOE has taken some very proactive steps in addressing some major issues and I hope to help NASCOE see these initiatives through to their completion. The implementation of the NASCOE National Database and carrying out the desires of NASCOE members when it comes to potential USDA Reorganization are two of the things that I am very glad to be able to be involved with as an Executive.
I feel I have gained valuable experience in my first year as an Executive and that experience will be of great benefit as NASCOE meets the challenges ahead. I hope I have kept my area informed of what NASCOE has been doing during the past year. I have done my best to represent the Midwest Area and help make decisions that are in the best interest of NASCOE and its members. I hope to be able to continue to do so for another year.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Jon Williams
Midwest Area Exec

NASCOE President
Candidacy Announcement
Bonnie Heinzman
Fellow NASCOE Members:
It has been my privilege to serve as NASCOE President this year. I now come to you to humbly ask that you allow me to continue in this position for a second term. It has certainly been an interesting time and a busy time.
Some NASCOE accomplishments this year include moving more into the electronic age with utilizing the web page more fully to communicate with members. We’ve moved to an electronic “fall mailing” and are preparing for an electronic annual report. We’ve worked legislatively to be more effective and proactive in the Farm Bill. A new benefit has been developed in the NASCOE travel web site. A NASCOE task force was developed to look at the possible ramifications of any future USDA Reorganization. Listening sessions were held at Area Rallies on this same subject. This year’s negotiation session with management was one of the most productive that I’ve experienced.
I’m proud of these accomplishments, but I feel we have more goals to reach, and new goals to set to make our association the best that it can be. One goal is to balance the NASCOE budget, and, although we’ve made progress in cutting our expenses, we have more to do in this area. We will soon be delivering a new farm bill with new programs and as yet unidentified membership concerns, and I look forward to being involved in addressing those concerns. If a USDA Reorganization is proposed by Congressional members, NASCOE must be involved to protect and enhance the outcome for our membership. Some other goals I continue to work on are improving communication with our membership, maintaining a good working relationship with management and with our coalition partners, and to be ever vigilant of opportunities to improve the working conditions of our membership.
Seventeen years ago I became an employee of ASCS and a member of NASCOE. I’ve always had a high regard and appreciation for our association and our membership, but being involved as NASCOE President has given me opportunities to see first-hand the respect others have for our association, the benefits our association provides, and the dedication of our membership. Not only am I proud to be the President of such a fine association, but I am continually humbled to be in this position.
FSA and NASCOE face several challenges and opportunities in the upcoming months. The leadership of our employee association must have the desire, commitment, experience, and leadership skills to effectively guide NASCOE. The one ingredient that is critical to the success of a NASCOE President is you – the membership. You are NASCOE. If you believe I have the right stuff to continue to represent you and your peers, I very humbly ask for your vote of confidence for a second year as your NASCOE President!
Thank you for your consideration,
Bonnie Heinzman

Candidacy Announcement
For
NASCOE Vice President
Myron Stroup
I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the position of NASCOE Vice President. I have appreciated the honor of serving in this position the past year. Both families, personal and work have given me the support needed for a position of this magnitude.
For those who don’t know me I would like to give you a brief work/NASCOE history. I started with ASCS/FSA in July 1982 and was selected as CED in my present county office in Jan 1983, the first day of PIK signup. I have been in shared management, with two County Offices since December 2002. I have been a member of NASCOE since first employed. My wife and I raised 3 children which kept me busy in their activities. Since they are now grown, I turned my attention to my State and National organizations to give of my time to repay those who gave before me and for those benefits that I have appreciated during my employment.
I have served as Director of my State Association for the past 6 years and as Legislative Chair for 5 of those years. During this time I also served as Southwest Area Legislative Chair, 3 years; Alternate Area Executive Committeeperson, 2 years; 2 years as Executive Committeeperson; and currently as the Vice-President. It has been an honor to serve in each position.
The members of NASCOE are very important to me, as well as, the services we provide to our customers. We have undergone a great deal of change in our business processes since 1982, and it will continue to evolve. If elected to this position, I will continue, to the best of my ability, to represent the members of this organization and be as proactive as possible in the changes which affect our membership. With your help we will be successful.
Each NASCOE office requires a certain level of commitment be made by the candidate, and I am willing to make that commitment. I will welcome any and all discussions and/or questions from you in regards to my announcement for this position. I ask for your support in electing me to the position of NASCOE Vice President at the 2008 National NASCOE Convention in Omaha, NE..
