| John Lohr, Vice-President |
Beyond the obvious of acting in the absence of the President, the NASCOE Vice President is charged with the following responsibilities:
• Act as a liaison between the NASCOE attorney and any member needing assistance.
• Works with the Secretary and Programs Committee Chairperson in preparing negotiation/consultation
positions for submission to FSA management.
• Maintain and distribute the NASCOE Responsibility Handbook
• Responsible for maintaining a list by date and location of state conventions and area rallies.
Most importantly I will be assisting the President and NASCOE leadership team in achieving the objectives of our association. I plan to use this time to learn and refine the skills needed to be ready in two years to lead our association.
Additionally President Myron has asked me to also serve in a dual role as NASCOE’s Parliamentarian. In this role I will be providing the support and guidance to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors on the use of parliamentary procedure. The Parliamentarian also provides technician advice and interpretation of the NASCOE Constitution and Bylaws, Executive Committee policies, and travel policy.
Just this past Monday, Myron and I traveled to the national office to meet with FSA leaders. With so many new and inexperienced appointments to FSA’s leadership positions and our recent election as NASCOE officers, we found our visits to be very timely and informative for both sides. Myron and I were especially impressed with our new DAFO Karis Gutter’s interest and enthusiasm in working with NASCOE. We both look forward to working with Karis and the other members of the FSA management team.
Finally I reiterate my pledge to work to insure that all NASCOE members are treated fairly by the administration, Congress, and their own association.
